Who We Are
Michele J. Fiasca
Michele began helping elderly and disabled folks find appropriate care settings 13 years ago. She saw that not everyone could afford the options that are currently available. She thought about the huge wave of boomers heading for retirement and the languishing economy. What were these boomers and seniors going to do? Homing Together was born.
“We originally envisioned it pretty much as a way to pool resources and make retirement affordable. The more people we share the idea with the more excitement is generated about the possibility of creating vibrant communities of like minded boomers and seniors that watch out for one another, and create a ready-made social circle. They won’t have to work ‘til they drop, and they don’t have to live with their kids."
Homing Together is about independence. You can be proactive about selecting a compatible household, and you don’t have to wait for the government to do something for you. If you want to come up with an idea for generating extra income for the members of a household, it's a choice not a necessity.
"The sky is the limit and we’re aiming for the moon.".
Zoe Morrison
“I see Homing Together as a way of being more proactive about the impact of things we may ‘believe’ we have no control over. We all have choices we can make to enhance the quality of our life. Sometimes it just means taking a different approach.
"Having a network of others who support and encourage our ‘growth’ out of old habits and thought processes increases our joy, awareness, vibrancy and productivity. Being able to lead by example, help others access the tools and resources they need to be proactive and see them moving forward is what motivates me. I know how powerful taking charge of one's own life can be.”
